Sports Talk groups offer a unique opportunity for individuals with aphasia to interact socially and improve their communication skills in a deeply supportive environment. Activities such as reading the newspaper’s sports page, discussing sporting events, and answering trivia questions can provide enjoyable and meaningful ways to practice language. For those with aphasia, being part of a sports talk group can be a game-changer, offering camaraderie and a platform to navigate speaking, reading, writing, and recall with the unwavering support of peers who understand their journey.

The Aphasia Community Center, Inc.’s Sports Talk Group is a fantastic opportunity to learn and have fun with sports! In this class, participants will use communication strategies, including multiple communication modes such as speaking, reading, and writing. Topics include teams, scores, stats, and players.
