The Aphasia Community Center, Inc.’s mission is to empower people impacted by aphasia to communicate and live fully, positively, and independently. We strive to help our members regain their independence and live life to the fullest.
The Aphasia Community Center, Inc. members are dedicated to spreading information about aphasia. We engage and educate individuals, local businesses, and organizations about aphasia through various activities that promote aphasia awareness.
The Aphasia Community Center, Inc. provides programs for people with aphasia. Class sessions are FREE and focus on improving and maintaining communication skills and well-being through social and functional group activities. Members engage in functional group activities to improve and maintain skills in writing, reading, spoken language, math, and related skills. Facilitators use aphasia-friendly materials and employ supportive techniques to ensure a comfortable and effective learning environment. ACC facilitators are speech-language pathologists, peers with aphasia, and family members.
All class participants must be registered Aphasia Community Center, Inc. members. As a member, you gain access to our wide range of resources and programs, including our FREE class sessions that focus on improving and maintaining communication skills and well-being through social and functional group activities. Membership also grants you access to our supportive community, where you can share experiences and learn from others. To register, fill out the Membership Application form on our website. Once your application is submitted, our team will review it and schedule a meeting with you. The membership application provides member eligibility requirements. Becoming a member is a simple process that allows you to access our wide range of resources and programs.
