Suncoast Aphasia Support Group

The Suncoast Aphasia Support Group offers support to people with Aphasia and their spouses, families, and friends. The group provides an opportunity to ask questions, obtain resource information, and engage in activities. It is as much for the person with Aphasia as it is for their caregivers. Their mission is to provide a friendly, welcoming, and positive environment for all people whose lives have been affected by Aphasia.
Each meeting features a guest speaker or an activity related to a topic, and each participant has the opportunity to contribute. After the topical discussion, guest speaker, or activity, caregivers and people with aphasia break into separate groups to discuss group-generated topics of interest. These breakout sessions provide support, understanding, and group-sponsored answers.
After the meeting, everyone is invited to a local restaurant for dinner to meet friends, socialize, and extend the connections made. This activity is optional.
