What are your favorite activities now? SPORTS!!
What piece of advice would you offer to other people with aphasia? You can always improve…never give up! I travel by myself – mainly flying – I am living with aphasia after my stroke and not letting it stop me from seeing my old friends and making new ones.
What is your biggest accomplishment in the last year? I got my driver’s license. It was revoked after my stroke. I have special adaptive equipment for my SUV.
In what way are you raising awareness of aphasia in our community? I am out quite a bit. For example, I am volunteering at Rise UP cafe in downtown Sarasota. I volunteer two days a week. I live downtown with my mother and stepdad. Enjoying meeting people!
What is your favorite class or activity at the Aphasia Community Center? I enjoy Pizza and Games Night. Love playing games..and winning…LOL
Do you have any pets? Charlie is my pet poodle …he is so cute!
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Maple Walnut with Bourbon and Bacon! You can find it at Rise UP Cafe.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us? I discovered the Suncoast Aphasia Support Group and have met such wonderful people with aphasia and their families.
